Smart Application

Artificial intelligence technology has begun to integrate into mainstream society bringing about dynamic effects to different industries such as daily life and medical care.

The Age of Artificial Intelligent Technology

The time of artificial intelligence technology is here, and we use them often in our everyday lives. Siri and the Android voice assistant are two of the best examples.

Amazon’s Alexa, an artificial intelligence voice assistant, is currently on the market. Talking to users, this smart device does not require a press of a button, key, or to enter an app. It can answer questions as easy as “how is the weather today” to “what are signs of a heart disease”.

In addition to daily applications, the company that developed the famous Japanese robot Pepper in 2014 also created another robot, Romeo, in 2011. It provided personal care services to help elderly people stand, walk, and inform their families when they are unwell. Its research and development went on to assist researchers with in-depth research on personal care for the elderly and those who cannot support themselves. The company was founded in France in 2005 and has since received capital investments from Japanese and Chinese companies, including technology giant Alibaba. In many development regions around the world, with the aging population comes unavoidable problems. Fortunately, technological development is able catch up.
In order to produce artificial intelligence technology, medical institutions have invested hundreds of millions in funds hoping to combine mobile phone, cloud, analysis, sensing, and clinical diagnosis technologies. Some consultants predict that the amount of US investment in digital healthcare this year (2016) will reach $ 6.5 billion. Network development and information technology combined with medical technology have developed today’s telemedicine. Medical staff can monitor and diagnose patients in remote areas through online videos. In addition to improving the standards of service, the cost is lower than paying more staff, and it is convenient for patients.

In addition to applications in medical and personal care, artificial intelligence technologies help humans overcome harsh environments, such as the disposal of nuclear waste. The Fukushima nuclear power plant accident in March 2011 left difficult issues such as release of radiation and nuclear waste cleanup. Even with protective equipment, it was difficult to protect workers entering the disaster site from infection. Finally, a robot was deployed to carry out this difficult task. As of the end of 2015, a total of 449 nuclear power reactors were set up in 30 countries around the world, providing 11% of the world’s electricity. In the next few years, many more nuclear plants under construction will be put into operation and it’s impossible to ensure that accidents will never happen again. Robots will play an important role in this regard. Artificial intelligence technology is revolutionary. Soon, everyone will be applying artificial intelligence technology in daily life which will subsequently bring with it, unlimited business opportunities.
